Halcyon: The World After

A woman lives in a post-apocalyptic world where she passes the time doing small tasks and preparing herbal remedies for her neighbors in exchange for favors and bartering. Her home is an old building steadily being reclaimed by nature that she has made a home of with her dog.

The peaceful calm is occasionally interrupted by sirens as the infected avians migrate in hivemind waves to spread spores. Humans hide underground and resurface in gas masks to burn the corpses of infected birds as they drop from the sky. 

The apocalypse is not the end of the world, but an end to the life humans knew; a devastating event that led to much suffering but shows that life goes on regardless. The world is healing and the remaining humans find the beauty and tranquility of the same nature that almost wiped them out.
